Kentucky Farmworkers Program
If you have done farm work during the last two years for 25 days or made at least $800.00, you may qualify for classroom training assistance. You must be at least 18 years old and be out of school for at least one year. You must fall within the federal poverty guidelines.
-Qualifying Farm work Includes-
Hauling hay, grain, livestock, processed meat, general farm work, working in green houses, meat processing/packing plant, harvesting crops, feeding/tending to livestock, chicken houses, fish farms, produce, tree cutting/logging.
-How it is Paid-
Timesheets are submitted bi-weekly for total training hours during that pay period. Kentucky Farmworker Programs pays $7.25 per hour for each hour that a trainee attends classes. Tuition assistance is available up to $2,000. Payment assistance on tuition is determined by the Executive Director, as each case may differ.
