Title 1/Titulo 1

A School-Wide Title 1 School

Munfordville School is a school-wide Title I program. The focus of a Title I program is to ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards in reading and math.  Students are assessed at least two times a year to show that progress is being made in those areas.  Title I funds at Munfordville Elementary are used to promote high academic achievement for all children; the funds ensure a greater focus is placed on teaching and learning and connects school, students, parents, and community.

Family involvement is an ongoing goal in a Title I school, and we appreciate your willingness to be a major part of your child’s education.  Educational research indicates that a strong home-school relationship increases a student’s achievement; therefore, we encourage you to become our partner.  We have monthly PTO meetings and site-base decision-making council meetings, and we also offer at least 4 family literacy events per year.  In addition, the HOPE Family Resource Center has an office in our building.  We’d like to invite you to become a volunteer.  Our teachers are in need of volunteers to work with students as well as plan parties and chaperone fieldtrips.  We also encourage you to contact your child’s/children’s teacher(s) when concern arises.

If you have any questions about Title 1, family literacy events, or volunteering, please contact Carri Goodman at 524-4651 or email her at carri.goodman@hart.kyschools.us.
