Email Migration Coming Soon

Email Migration Notes and Tutorials:

  • ALL users will need to access email using the web.  Since we are going to Gmail, Chrome is the best browser that integrates perfectly with Gmail.  However, any Internet browser will work.  If you currently don’t have Chrome, you can install it at any time.

  • Students will be migrated, but we haven’t communicated with students yet.  You may want to mention it in your classrooms as you get information to prepare them for the move as well as the different look.

  • If you haven’t seen Gmail, you have access as staff.  Sign on to Chrome and click on Gmail.  There are several training videos that are published by Google.  I have attached a list of videos put together by another Region 2 school that helped them with the pilot migration.  You can find out how email looks, calendar works, and contacts operate.

  • All email, contacts, and calendars will be migrated for you.

  • We will also update our Website link to email address during the migration.

  • We know many of you check and monitor email with your phone and we want to provide that assistance as well.  I have covered this in pre-migration meetings for the schools that chose to participate.

  • In the initial migration, we will only move the main calendar.  We do have the ability to move others by user request.

  • If you have specific email rules set up, you will likely have to set those rules again in the new email system.

  • If you have email signatures set up, those won’t be migrated and will have to be recreated.
