Art is a soothing balm for my soul, a respite from reality whether viewing or creating having with it a freedom unlike any other, followed by a never-ending sense of wonder ~ Pam Glaab
My name is Pam Glaab and I teach Creative Art at HCHS. Visual Art is important for a well-rounded education, because even if students have no future plans for a career in art, they develop an appreciation for art history's past, present, and future. As 21st century learners, students will learn about cultural diversity, the elements of art and principles of design, critical-thinking and problem-solving - all skills that are necessary!
I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and an emphasis in Ceramics and Weaving. In addition, I obtained my teaching certificate in Art Education. I enjoy creating art when I can, but with my hectic lifestyle, it often gets put on the backburner. Being a mom of three beautiful daughters, a grandmother to five lovely grandchildren and a wife to a wonderful husband keeps me extremely busy. Add to that one full-time art teacher and you have organized chaos and fun! I love attending church and believe that God is the ultimate artist Creator who has endowed us with the gift of creativity.
