Hart County High School will host its annual Veterans’ Day Program at Hart County High School on Monday, November 11, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am in the gymnasium.  For the first time, this will be a county-wide program with all six schools participating.

All Hart County veterans are invited and encouraged to attend as special guests.  If you are a veteran and would like to attend, please contact the high school at 524-2332 or 524-9341 by Friday, November 8 and share your name, branch of the military in which you served, and the years in which you served.  Veterans and their families are invited to park on the Lonoke side of the high school or in the back of the high school and enter through the GRCCA entrance (Door K) for easier entry into the building.   Prior to the program, all veterans are invited to enjoy breakfast items in the cafeteria beginning at 9:00 am.

This year’s Veterans’ Day Program will include Hart County native and veteran speaker Mr. Michael Burd.  A graduate from Hart County High School in 1989, Captain Burd went on to graduate from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1993 and has served most of his years at the Mayport Naval Station in Florida.   He is currently stationed at the Millington Naval Base in Tennessee.  In addition to remarks from Captain Burd, the 2019 Veterans’ Day Program will include music performed by the Hart County Raider Band, music provided by students in grades 4-8 from all five elementary schools, music from the HCHS choir, special recognition of all veterans in attendance, and will conclude with several patriotic quilts that will be given away by Sew n’ Sew Quilters of Hart County to some veterans in attendance.  The students of the Hart County School System welcome and look forward to honoring our veterans and their service to our great country.
